Marjorie's ramblings

Glass (class)

The first snow of the winter, but wet, sleety and windy for most of the day. I spent some time sorting out a few boxes in the loft and making more space for my camera equipment in a chest of drawers.

I was trying out various techniques before I achieved this image. I want to find out how best to do my bric a brac project for the photo class. This will not be in, but it gave me the chance to try bubble wrap for the backdrop and the surface under the glasses. Then there were a few bits of processing to try to create an ethereal look.

These are old glasses. The one with the gold bands came from my parents' home. Alcohol was consumed only at Christmas and New Year. Most of the family was teetotal anyway. I think we had some sweet sherry and ginger wine in the house. I remember that my Auntie Nell enjoyed gin and orange. My Dad were whisper to her to check this was still her tipple and then go and quietly make it for her.

I did start with 4 glasses, but I understand that even numbers are not really acceptable to the artistic eye. Once I had arranged these I was reminded of the famous sketch from TWTWTW.....
