Holiday love

Finally feeling the holiday love today after a wonderful evening last night. With much trepidation, we switched the baby listening device on and settled into a bottle of Chablis in front of the fire downstairs in the bar. We ran up and checked on her ourselves a few times too and found her to be sound asleep and happy.

The weather was biblical today so we didn't leave the hotel. Audrey had a whale of a time though. Croissants for breakfast, two (happy) hours in the creche, an hour's nap, a run round outside during a dry spell (see pic) and a swim in the indoor pool.

We chilled out this morning in the library, had a nap with her at lunchtime and now we're looking forward to another dinner downstairs tonight. So everyone's happy!

The only disappointment with this place is the food which is a bit overpriced and mediocre. But other than that, we're really loving how geared up for kids it is so you can kind of forgive a few flaws!

After dinner last night, we ended up sitting and chatting with three other sets of "baby-listening de-mob happy dining" parents on the sofas. It was lovely to share our war stories from baby and toddlerville. But what was funny was that once we'd done the kids-chat; you could really sense how relieved we all were to be chatting about something else - boxsets, our jobs, where we lived etc. We all love being parents but its nice to still be something other than parents sometimes too. And this holiday is perfect for being both.
