Franz Josef Glacier

Set off at around 8am for the full day hike. Spent the first half hour kitting up in boots and crampons and then we were off ascending the mighty glacier that is Franz Josef. Great mixture of Chilean, Irish and Belgian hikers accompanying us on our climb. Our hike was overseen by the fantastic Adam from Sydney (top of shot) who you can see here guiding Jodie up a particularly ­
steep climb.

Got back at 17:00 completely exhausted and ready for happy hour at the 'Alice May' pub
