Under 2 hours
Check out the amazing sunshine in Brighton today. There was also no wind. Conditions were perfect for a PB, so I went for it. The marathon training has paid off with a massive 4 mins off my previous fastest time, plus I've finally managed to dip under 2 hours
Time 1 hour 57 mins 52 seconds
This band were drumming away at about the 10 mile point. They were one if 3 drumming bands on the course today. All 3 were fantastic. There is always great crowd support and a lot of enthusiasm at Brighton and today was no exception.
This blip was taken where the course reaches the furthest point in Hove, turns for the last 3 miles back to Marina Drive, and runs along the seafront next to the beach huts. Some of the beach huts had been reduced to matchsticks by the storms, but others were unscathed. The organisers had to clear pebbles off this part of the course - they had been flung here from the beach. We saw benches buried in pebbles up to seat level. If the weather had been as bad as it was on Friday I think the race might have had to be cancelled, and there would certainly have been no PBs.
