Odd Collections 3: Shot glasses

It's Friday again and time to reveal my next collection. I have to say that sadly two shot glasses died in the making of this photo. Having rescued these forgotten glasses from the cellar, from forgotten lodgings on windows, shelves and cupboards, then cleaned them to make them sparkle I then had to decide how to show them off.

I decided that putting them on glass would be best. I placed them on a glass chessboard and went to carry them upstairs to shoot them in the bath. Two fell to their immediate death on the granite tiles of my hallway! RIP!

I started to collect these glasses when I started to travel more around 2001. As a single parent travel was restricted before then but as my kids went off to university I seized on opportunities to take part in European and world wide projects. On my travels I picked up a shot glass to immortalise my visit. For reasons I don't quite understand I stopped collecting some years ago and now have around 50 to find a comfortable spot in the house. For now they follow my turtles and my miniature ports into my Friday collections.
