Arrochar Alps from Auchineden Hill
This morning I took a walk up Auchineden Hill to blow away the cobwebs . It was muddy and very wet underfoot, but the view from the ridge over to the Arrochar Alps was fantastic. There's nothing like the volume of snow that prevailed when I blipped the mountains from the road on 11th February. However, the peaks of Ben Vorlich, Ben Vane, Beinn Ime, and Beinn Narnain are shimmering in the sunlight, although the light is much flatter because of extensive cloud formations. I increased the contrast a little to differentiate the planes of colour - the browns and yellows of the moor and the greens and blues of Loch Lomond's shoreline and its little islands.
