The Closing Ceremony

Just like the athletes at the real games...the bird competitors at the Alternative Olympic Games are meeting to say goodbye.

The feelings in the arena are a lot different than they were 2 weeks ago. The games...the contests...the runs...are over. The pressure is off. OR...is it?

Someone forgot to tell the pelicans that the games were over. They were continuing to fight for the "fish medals" the 2 judges were passing out...spurred on by the 3-4 photographers. You might say that they were trying to peak beak at just the right time.

Actually...I am not watching the Sochi ceremony. I don't care for the opening or the closing. To illustrate how much I don't care for it...I'm watching the end of the rain-delayed Daytona 500 (car race), and I REALLY don't like Nascar.

Check out my FLICKR PAGE for some more bathing pelicans, and a few other birds.

I'm a few days behind on Blip. I spend all day taking pictures...often shooting the setting sun. Then it takes me forever to edit them. By the time I finish Flickr and Blip...it's 11:30 p.m. Time for bed.

Will try to catch up soon. I enjoyed all the entries in the AOG.
