A Photo Shoot

I decided to return to the Ringling Museum today...figuring that...if Mr. Ringling put it in his will that one day of the week would be free...that he would want me to be there. Sound thinking, eh?

I snapped a few birds that were on the grounds, took a few of a couple of statues, then hit the museum.

Wedding dresses were lined up on a rack on one of the outside hallways...along with a good-sized tent. IT'S A PHOTO SHOOT! IT'S A PHOTO SHOOT!

They were all having lunch, so I stuck my nose into the museum...again marveling at the priceless artwork. I gave them 20 minutes, and headed back outside. The 2 "brides" were almost ready. A touch-up of the hair, some last second make-up, and a little "adjusting"...if you know what I mean.

So much fun to watch. Since it was in a public place, us "spectators" just milled about. The 2 young ladies were beautiful, the camera guy answered all of my questions, the backdrops were spectacular, and it was interesting to see all the other equipment. And...did I say that the 2 young ladies were beautiful?

Almost always shooting in silhouette...you quickly find out how important the lighting set-ups are. In fact, on this particular shot...his flash must have went off at the exact moment I took my shot...giving me the good light.

I took so many pictures that the director of the shoot asked..."Hey mister...do you want to be the back-up photographer?"

"Would it get me clearance into the changing tent?

"Uh....no."

"Then...no thanks. Too much pressure."

You MUST go to my FLICKR PAGE to see the rest of the shots. One trick I did see. To "tighten" some of the dresses...they used metal clamps across the dress on the models back. Of course...when they shot from the "come hither" angle...the clamps had to come off.

Like I said...so much fun.
