Thursday; four seasons in one day.

Well that was a day wasn't it? Started out being in site at 08:30. A bit chill but beautiful sunshine.Getting there was a challenge as the satnav showed its sense of humour by directing me down the narrowest, most pot-hole strewn lanes imaginable. At one point I met another car coming the other way and had to reverse a long way looking for a passing place that didn't have a ditch or brick wall to add jeopardy. A little shower while I was there but nothing too worrying. Out at midday to get to the other site for 13:00 and as I climbed over the moors the sky darkened. As I parked the hail hit and it was heavy enough to whiten the ground in moments - visibility was gone so I sheltered under the walls of the jail. Finally got to the gate as the hail turned to snow. Proper snow. Not little silly snow but the proper Christmas card stuff. After a while that died off but the biting wind remained and there was a shower as I headed back to the car. This shot was taking in light rain but the sun was out too so the light was strange.

The image shows the remains of the mediaeval clapper bridge at Dartmeet. Behind is the modern bridge built in 1792............

Time for some food now and another early night - rock and roll! Friday to navigate before a weekend to recharge the batteries; head down and hard at it hombres!
