Sky-Crow Fly Past

Vineyard owners and managers are using a variety of methods to keep flocks of birds from eating the ripening grape crop. Gas guns and different styles of netting are popular methods. Then there are a variety of scarecrows around the district. The vineyard I walk through on a regular basis has several scarecrows. But they are kites rather than the traditional ground based scarecrows. Each one is attached to a long flexible pole which bends readily in the wind. These particular models are called “Sky-Crows” and they seem to be very effective. It does not take much more than a gentle breeze for them to appear to be flying backwards and forwards and around in circles. They look very fearsome…. I am sure the tine birds are terrified of them….
There was a small lenticular cloud in the sky to the north east this morning. I managed, after many attempts, to capture this Sky-Crow flying past that lonely little cloud in the sky.
