Tour of Britain

The weather wasn't great today as we said farewell to Oxford.
We'd debated where else to visit whilst in this part of the country; Mr A wanted to visit Warwick Castle and I wanted to visit Stratford upon Avon.

We managed both! We didn't go into the castle as frankly the prices were extortionate. But we can say we've seen it now.
Stratford was pretty much what we expected; I bet it's nice in summer. We didn't spend long there as the weather was grim, but again it's another place on my 'to visit' list that I can tick off.

On the way to Stratford from Warwick, Mr A asked if we could visit the Heritage Motor centre. As it was an indoor activity I said yes!

It was a great place; all the cars set out in chronological order, with a few special editions such as the 'Back to the Future' De'Lorean, Lady Penelope's 'Fab1' and a couple of Land Rovers from 'Tomb Raider' & 'Skyfall'.

As if that wasn't enough for one day, Mr A then requested to visit the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. It seemed silly not to go as we pretty much drove past it on the way home.

Here they have 'the largest and finest' collection of British made motorbikes, displayed over 5 halls.
They ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous!
We both agreed it was worth stopping off for, rather than making a special journey there on another day.

We are heading home now can't wait to get into our comfy bed tonight after what has been a fun filled weekend. Back to work for a rest tomorrow!

Today's blip features the car & motorbike museums; Warwick castle & Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford.
