Half Term #3

A day in the country; took the boys to see their grand parents; we drove up the M9 in decent weather, all the while expecting to get to the Keir Roundabout and for the heavens to open. But no.

We arrived at 11; had coffee and then donned boots and jackets and went for a wander around. Still precious little sign of spring in West Perthshire, but warm (out of the wind) but so sodden underfoot.

We mucked about, climbed trees and built bivouacs out of branches and then inside around one for home made pizzas. Tasty! They were well received.

Rain started to drift in after lunch so we stayed in, kids laying with Mousetrap and back gammon set whilst I chatted with my parents in a non specific way. They still don't talk about the spilt up and occasionally I want to yell, but mostly I know they are too old to want to bother with this and whilst I'd appreciate a bit more support and a little less neutrality, it doesn't seem to be forthcoming.

But a good day; Alex was asleep before we hit the M9 and Tom grumbled all the way home; I did feel slightly guilty dropping off two basket cases, but hey. They'll sleep well tonight.
