Family time

The wee man rose early this morning, which is often the case after a long night of traveling. I brought him into bed to see if I could tempt him into an early morning snooze but he was having none of it. Instead he was up for the day.

When it came to his midday nap we jumped into the car and drove over to Sheffield to join in the celebrations of Gemma's surprise birthday party. We stayed for about three and a half hours and the wee man was in top form. I've genuinely lost count of the number of people who complemented him today. He was happy, charming and impeccably well behaved. I was a very proud father (taking all the plaudits of Nikki's hard work).

On the way home we called in to see Vicky, Sharon and their two wee ones before tucking our lad into his PJs and heading home.
