And it rained and it rained......

I managed a bit of sleep last night but it was definitely a wild night again with the rain and the wind going full force continuously.

My fears of our roof lifting off and flying away were not proven to be thank goodness, but other peoples' property around the city were not untouched.
Apparently we have had the most rainfall in so many hours since 1975, there is flooding in alot of streets and homes.
I had to drive Ella and her friend to school and was very surprised to get two doors down our street to find it flooded, never ever had that happen before, and then further down our valley there was major flooding.....took a very long time to get the girls to school, not sure why the school didn't close as many others did today.
On my return journey home I had to divert lots of times, and ended up in this situation where I blipped this car that had been abandoned in a 'lake'....it was actually the flooded river that had come over its banks onto the road. I drove thru on our side and the water came nearly over my bonnet! I love a bit of adventure driving and steamed thru to the other side..I didn't want to stall my engine like they obviously had!
The weather is starting to ease now....
