Lent

"But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:17-18

Today's picture is of a squeezed lemon that we used yesterday on pancakes as it was pancake day, or Shrove Tuesday. This marks the beginning of Lent in the Christian calendar. This should be a time of fasting, or people nowadays use it to give up something that takes up their time so that they can spend more time with God. Therefore, I chose this Bible verse, that says it should not be obvious to other people that we are fasting, but instead should be between yourself and your Father in Heaven. It is always healthy to reflect on your lifestyle and if there is something that is taking up too much of your time, I don't think this necessarily needs to wait until lent, but it is a good reminder...
