Costa's

Some local traders complained when Costa's moved into Penrith arguing that it would take their trade. It is one of the very few places I know where you can get served with a drink and something to eat after half past three. Most local coffee houses and cafés are sweeping the floors with tables on the chairs at half past three and it's not because of the lack of trade - there is plenty out there. They just don't want you being so bold as to ask for food and drink in their establishment after half three - they have to go home at five. I went to one coffee house/restaurant today at three forty only for myself and two other parties seeking refreshment to be told in no uncertain terms that at four o'clock the doors would be locked. All this was said whilst getting the advertising boards in from outside and putting chairs on tables. Viva Costa's .
