From the dark corner.....

Canal dreams...

It was a very cold, grey start to the day and I was glad to get into McDonalds for my cuppa this morning. There was a strange man in overalls and huge glasses, wearing someone else's teeth and reeking of B O. in the queue in front of me. I assume he was wearing someone else's teeth as they didn't seem to fit his mouth and were threatening to fly out when he kept turning round to grin inanely at me. I got that paranoid, I fled to the loo to make sure I hadn't come out of the house with sugar puffs stuck to my chin or something weird. Well, I looked no worse than usual so I collected my tea from the counter and left straight away in the direction of the council house. The doors were already open and I gratefully rushed inside to escape the morning chill.

The day went quite peacefully after that. It was quiet on the Sys Admin front for a change so I got my purchase card reconciliation done and after having a savage punch up with the dratted photocopier in the next office, I piled all the receipts and other odds and ends into an envelope and shoved it in the tray to go upstairs. As it was my last day in the office until next month, I thought I'd better get the admin junk out of the way.

With my two days of this week left home working this week, I've left myself a small year end report to write.

It had warmed up a bit and the sun had come out when I left the office so I decided to walk back home via the canal as I hadn't been down there since last summer. I'm glad I did it but I must say that it's only a place to walk comfortably if it's been bone dry for a few weeks. It was very boggy down there and I was worried about slipping on the mud and falling in the murky waters on a couple of occasions. I was glad I didn't meet anyone else coming in the opposite direction as the dry bits were very narrow!

I took several pictures while I was down there but decided to post one of the prettier views when I was on my way back to civilisation.

Go large.....

That's it. As usual, I'd walked a bit further than I had imagined and by the time I got home my legs were hanging off. My muddy boots are by the front door and my work black jeans are in the washing machine! I am now watching Jack and Victor again with a glass of red to celebrate the middle of the week. Well, why not?

Track? I have posted it several times before but it was today's Daz Doorstep Challenge Name That Tune number when I was in the shower first thing and I love it - House Of The Rising Sun
