Ivy dresses up to plug ullapool dance festival...

I love the look of suprise on her face. It's like she's saying "What?! They even have classes at the Ullapool dance festival for meee? Meee?!" This weekend in Ullapool, there's a whole lot of dance classes and a cheilidh (and lots of other stuff) as part of the annual dance festival. Google it- and come if you can. Ivy is going to a baby dance class with her daddy and then to a creche so we can go learn to Rumba.

We took a whole series of photos, which ended with a lovely montage of ivy throwing herself onto her tummy and then crawling off the sofa. It's great having a Granny who can knit to request- where else would you get bright orange legwarmers to dress your 5 month old up like a dancer?

Today, Ivy went for a nap in her cot, on her back with no fuss and slept for an hour and a half. Just a few short weeks ago Euan and I were trying to come up with a plan of action to make her take longer naps- turns out all she needed was to be a litte bit older.

In the afternoon, we went to chat to a childminder about the possibility of her taking Ivy if I go back to work. Starting to really think about practicalities- like how I can keep Ivy breastfed without having tIo spend every free moment i get hooked to a pump.

We also went to visit Ivy's mister- who is a whole year old today! Ivy charmed her mother-in-law-to-be with kisses. She's becoming more and more affectionate. My favourite is when she leans in a touches noses! eskimo kiss!

Today's milestone: Ivy enjoyed swimmming for the first time! shes been a few times but has always been quite apethetic about the whole events. Today she activly kicking herself round the watr and grinning. Euan's trunks have gone missing since he went in the sea, so it was just Ivy and I in the water.

We attempted to take ivy to the pub quiz tonight, shes been before and slept through, but tonight she woke up so we brought her home. given her a late bath to trick her into thinking it's bedtime. Hope it works....
