Playing with Fire
We had a great evening. I forget how infuriated I used to get when I could never get a setting right for a night shot. This evening there were six of us at the top of Holmbury Hill and only a couple of us had ever done any night photography.
Given the basic theory and a few tips I think everyone went home with a few good photos. Whilst most concentrated on trying to shoot the moon and the general landscape, I went off to one side and did some light painting until the cold forced us down hill.
The banks of the little pond were the best place to do the steel wool trick. I couldn't risk it at the top as the wind had started to blow and I didn't fancy putting out fires all over the hillside. As it was the spark had me stamping out a couple of patches of grass and I made sure that nothing more would catch before we left.
This may not have been the best photo but is the one that caught my eye. Just a little bit too late to be picky.
