Blame the car

It needed an MOT so we took it to the local garage - oh to be on Barra, the next island south, where there is no need for MOTs as there is not an MOT registered garage. It will be a couple of hours we were told so thought that a walk around Benbecula airport would be a good idea. It is a long sweep of sand on the western side and that is where this blip was taken. There when we were at our apogee from the garage, the heavens opened and stayed open. It wouldn't have made much difference as we encountered a drainage ditch towards the end that required a paddle anyway... Either way as we got back to the garage - to find surprisingly they needed another half hour - we were sodden.
Changed and refreshed we then went to Grogarry Lodge for a concert from the local music students. A fun do although as Tricia says to our uncultured ears, one jig sounds pretty similar to another. Grogarry Lodge is where the hunting fishing mob stay on South Uist and it has that slightly shabby chic feel of decaying Edwardian opulence. Loved it!
