A different skyline!!
A very busy day as we took a tour round the island. The Island is small about 26 miles by 14 miles and has a population of 5.3 million!! The island has grown a bit with the land reclamation, but to house the population the government have built and are still building subsidised high rise accommodation. It was amazing to see the amount of development. Unemployment is low at about 2%.
We visited the Bright Hill Temple, this is the roof line of some of the temples against a beautiful blue sky. Then on to Kranji War Memorial, Changi Chapel and Museum, before heading to the Gardens by the Bay.
The gardens are on reclaimed land, soil from Thailand!! We stayed on there to spend a couple of hours walking round the gardens and seeing inside the two domes.
As we walked back to the hotel we were able to see the buildings in yesterdays blip from ground level and appreciate the scale of things. The white tulip like building is the Art Science Museum which we hope to visit on Sunday.
