Twilight & Lit Window, Bray Prom
Took Lola for a walk on the prom in Bray before the light went, up the Head a little way, to what you might call the first landing, the top of the steps winding down to Naylor's Cove. I notice that the last remains of the graffitied concrete huts have been removed now. Since I started taking daily photographs Bray has become a regular destination, another place to watch the twilit clouds make painterly compositions above the horizon. Opposite, over the roofs of sea-facing Victorians, the gold light flared then darkened quickly.
I lived in Bray in the late 1970s, then again in the early 1990s, and I wrote a piece about it on my Lightbox blog. Bray has changed since I last lived there. It seems a much livelier place (though that wouldn't be saying much). I'm glad I still know a few friends there though, good to feel connected with the place.
I met Rory, a man with a lurcher, just before heading back to the car.
