The lesser spotted blue footed Ivy boobie!
So glad the camera was handy for this moment today- I couldn't have set up a better photo.
Ivy has been trying out the blue footed boobie feet her Granny Grant sent her in the post today- they keep her feet lovely and warm when shes in her carrier and have already gleaned compliments on a tesco trip. I had taken a rather arty photo of her feet in the foreground and her little faace blurred in the background but then this happened.
The combination of her oevrsized bib, the orange smear of carrot and squash soup round her mouth and her particular way of holding her arms out. I don't think she could have looked more bird like if she'd tried!
Today i'vre been taking steps to deal with Ivy's new skill of getting into things and her cable obsession. Our tv cabinet (atually an ikea expedit on legs) had two cupboards at the bottom filled of electronic things- that Ivy gleefully pulled out yesterday. So I dismantled it, and reassembled it for the cupboards are now at the top, and then used the jigsaw to cut a whole in the back of the cupboard to stuff cables in so she can't get anywhere near them. I have grand plans for the open cubbies that are now at the bottom- it will probably appear as a blip soon.
It is Euan's birthday today- he's 32! So we're having mussles for dinner- I'm cooking. I looked up a Michael Roux recipe before setting off, got all my ingredients together only to discover I could only get pre-prepared mussles. Oh well. I shall attempt to make some fancy dessert instead.
