Another gloomy day in Dunoon drove us south to investigate the line of yellowish light we could see below the clouds towards Toward. Sure enough, from Innellan on we were in pale sunlight, and felt that that compensated for the tearing wind that propelled us down the road to the Ardyne. There the sun dropped into the cloud bank above Bute, but there was enough light left to show up the rivulets on the shore at this very low tide.
Getting back up the road was interesting. It felt like climbing a mountain ridge ...
