Demolition day!!

This is a view from our back door after our builder started to demolish the old wall. As he took to bricks off we could see the extent of the dead bushes behind the wall and how close they were to pushing the wall over. It was decided that they needed to be removed, but they are not on our land!!

In “woman on a mission” mode I contacted the person responsible for the management of the land and asked him to come and see the situation. 15 minutes later we had a decision…….he will send someone tomorrow to clear the land and I will purchase some pyracantha plants for the “other side” of the wall.

They will replace the old dead forsythia that the sparrows used as perches and provide food for them in the winter. It will also provide us with interesting greenery showing over the top of the wall when they grow and a prickly barrier!!
