Plum blossom

What a great day in all respects, weather and just being alive. We're hoping for a few more plums off the tree this year. Last year we had 2. But it is in the shade of our apple tree and only cost a fiver.

Went running this morning and really put my right knee through it with sprints (well I call them that, it's just moving a little faster), jumps, hops and grapevines thown in. And it seems fine tonight. Off to see the physio tomorrow for her verdict.

Spent a couple of hours on the prison contract - making contact with the important people who are running the show.

Then after lunch up to the allotment where we sowed peas, cleared the brassica patch and dug most of it over and planted out 30 strwberry plants.

Gasping for a drink by the time we got home so 2 glasses of water and a large cup of tea accompanied by a slice of homemade cherry cake proved to be restorative.

Off to Portsmouth tomorrow for a few days, (after seeing the physio) mainly to see our favourite band Runrig at the Guildhall. Staying overnight and hoping to pop over to the Isle of Wight for the day on Thursday and possibly have a stroll around Portsmouth on Friday.

On the way down we plan to stop at the Devil's Punchbowl near Hindhead where walks take you into countryside that was once deafened by the roar of the A3 but is now a quite oasis since the road tunnel was completed. Apparently you can walk along the reclaimed stretch of the route of the old A3. Could be interesting, but may not be able to blip until we get back to Kent on Friday.
