Sweet Treats
I received these this morning from a little girl in my class as a thank you for the music festival we did last week. They sang lovely songs from Disney shows and musicals, and did a dance to Colours of the Wind (the cool, Vanessa Williams version) from Pocahontas. I choreographed it to include some partner work and basic Rumba steps, and they were absolutely amazing! They performed it brilliantly, and we were the best dancers there, hands down! They have worked so hard, and as I sat and watched them perform in front of the other schools and their parents, I was just so proud. Three of the ten or so schools danced, us included, but their routines were very simple and the teachers prompted them throughout. Although we have practised for weeks, and I was pretty confident that they would be great, there was a part of me that wondered if I had asked too much of them. I needn't have worried! Everybody came to say how fab they were, and it proves that 6 year olds can do anything if you have high expectations!
Anyway, in other news, my gardeners have come and trimmed my lawn and prepped the beds. I moved into my(first!) house 16 months ago, and although the inside was gutted and is now gorgeous, the garden has yet to be tackled, and is quite sparse. I'm going to try and do some planting while I've got a couple of weeks off.
