Bob and Caley
It has been a horrid long desk day but I actually made some inroads into the backlog of stuff.
I seemed to have lost the early benefit of some morning fresh air by lunch time too.
I got my new phone finally rigged up today. My goodness it is complicated. Described as waterproof the user is encouraged to do everything without undoing any of the flaps around the edges. I have a magnetic charger cable and after one initial -tethered by USB cable- to the PC subsequent downloads or data transfers should be possible through wifi by simple drag and drop in file explorer.
I was interested to see what the camera would be like. You can’t really tell by reading the blurb but is much better than the previous phone. I am clearly not used to phone cameras. My first attempts had fingers in the image. The lens is right in the postage stamp corner and very easy to obstruct (for me). Very clever; a screen tap on the subject selects that point for focus and initiates the shot. I struggle to hand hold the slender device and set a two second timer helps in this respect. However I cannot use it with one hand when I need to select focus point manually.
Perhaps I am thinking about the phone camera the wrong way but there is no raw format and the resulting jpegs seem to suffer from over compression. Mrs SJR’s iphone camera looks better to me.
Anyway, it had to be a blip from the phone today; Bob and Caley.
