Christmas Cheer!
Not the best photo in the world. I got invited out to a wine tasting this evening but then had such a lovely time with my once flatmate of many years (I can't quite bring myself to call her an ex-flatmate) that I forgot to take some photos so it was a quick after thought in a bar in Stockbridge. It was this or my gas meter (and no, it's not actually stella in the glass)
My gas meter? Why would I have been taking photos of my gas meter? Well, I have an assignment due in tomorrow, one that's been very difficult due to a number of different factors effecting my data. Today, I checked back on the course forums to find the equation for converting my current meter reading from cubic feet to cubic meters. That's when I found out that apparently the meter doesn't measure in cubic feet, it measures in 100 cubic feet. Emailed a photo of the meter to my tutor and a ten minute phone call to Scottish Gas to confirm and yup, all my data, and hence my whole assignment, are wrong! So it's a late night tonight and an early morning tomorrow, to get it corrected before the deadline of 12 noon.
There's also been a further development on the boiler saga. Turns out our poor water pressure is probably because we still have lead pipes, so it's not the water board's problem. That means we're going to have to pay to get the old boiler fixed and then contemplate the best plan of action before next winter. We're still hoping there's a stop tap in the loft that just isn't turned on fully but I think that's just wishful thinking and we can't do anything about it until we can borrow (at least) a 12 foot ladder.
Sorry for the ranty nature of today's blip, not had a great day. Normal service will resume shortly.
