Sweetness

Dave, Kristen and Chloe came out this morning to visit. It felt so much like spring, it was lovely. The guys grilled our lunch (steaks & hot dogs), the pup and Chloe took a nice nap this afternoon, and then we all went outside to play hoops, color with chalk, and soak in some much needed vitamin D.

There's still plenty of snow, and we are yet to enjoy a sunny day without the wind, but today was fair, and we didn't complain. It was nice to be able to sit outside, watch the kids play and not have to have winter hats and mittens on.

It's days like these that I realize just how lucky we are to have friends like Dave and Kristen. It's a comfortable friendship... one where you don't feel like you need to be a "host" all the time - drinks are in the fridge, food in the cabinet type of deal. We all simply help ourselves. While the littles were taking their naps... we sat and watched TV ... for an hour and a half. Some (the dads) stole a little shut-eye, the rest of us enjoyed the calm and quiet.
