The Boat Race

Yesterday's blip was all about heroes, so the second part of yesterday took a back seat.

This is the only boat we have. Today's blip acknowledges The Boat Race, which took place on The Thames yesterday.

I have often watched the race and admired the skill, power and determination of the crews.

Yesterday was different, and the line has been drawn.
Adam has accepted an offer from Oxford.
This means I have a bias now for The Boat Race.
I also have a reason to go and watch it.

My abiding memory of the race yesterday is not the margin of the Oxford win.
It is the grace and humility demonstrated by the winning crew after Cambridge lost an oar.
Both crews are a shining example of how sport should be.
