Burgeoning

For the last few weeks I have been on the lookout for leaves springing forth from buds as I remember a blip I did last year where the leaves were bunched together in a spiral as they emerged from the tree bud. See HERE The word that stuck in my head was ‘burgeoning’ so I looked it up in the dictionary tonight and it is very apposite as it means ‘beginning to grow’ or ‘put forth young shoots.’ I thought this explosive leaf growth captured it nicely though it did not have the lovely geometric spiral of last year’s blip.
