April 11th 2009 - Me and my Tortoise (I wish)

This morning we headed to a Tortoise Reserve – which is of course blip of the day! After getting a taxi over to the reserve we were accosted by a policeman/guide who followed us around giving us little tit bits of information. The tortoises were so cool. They were in little groups of about ten or a dozen, fighting or trying to mate or just eating. They were eating a lot. We spent quite a while wandering around the park watching these sensational creatures. We then undertook a seemingly never-ending trek to a beach in the sweltering heat. The highlight of the beach had to be the Manta Rays, which drew quite the crowd

As soon as we got home we headed out for burgers, which I had been hungering for all day! It took an age for them to bring them out and when they did they did not last long! We went to the internet café and headed home for some cards and food before our night out. We made our way to Iguana Rock to see a band who just acted like they were at a jamming session and simply flirted their way through their set. But they were fun and I stayed until about quarter to one in the morning, pleased to get some sleep. Until it was broken at 4am by Katja, Josefine and Mia crushing me as they stumbled in from the bars – thanks girls!
