Just the Withers......

By JaneW

Can I have another scone ....

I am flattered that Alice and Charlie ask me to make scones for them ... I think they could live on them if DDLC would let them ... It's my annual Alice blip .. It is her 11th birthday tomorrow so we were invited for a little tea party this afternoon ... We did an Alice 'lucky dip' wrapping loads of stuff up and putting it in an IKEA bag which she asked to keep too .. It makes an excellent soft toy storage ... She has had the worst day ever due to Charlie bursting the best balloons she had ever seen in the world... (She had a lovely time really apart from that ) ..
As you golden oldie followers know,we Withers family members are very fond of Alice and her extraordinary ways, she makes me laugh, cry, furious and happy sometimes all those things within 15 minutes of each other... Please as usual take time to remember that just because you cannot 'see' a disability it does not mean there is not one there.. So before you judge a child or young adult having a meltdown or behaving in a manner 'different ' to how you perceive they should be behaving please remember that all our brains fire on different cylinders and that is true of Alice and every other child/adult out there who has a form of autism or is on the spectrum in some way ....
Here ends my sermon for this year ...

Love you Alice x
