A bit of a twist....
It was another gorgeous day but I just did not feel like going out. I just felt a bit low today for no good reason at all.
I got my old laptop working which was the best thing. After having a chat with one of the Network team I decided I had nothing to lose and stripped McAfee off, ignored all the horrible red warnings and then installed Frank's current favourite - Avast. Hell on earth! It took about 8 shutdowns and a bit of twiddling with settings but I finally got it to work properly with the Solihull Web Portal. Mission accomplished! What a sad cow I've turned into with the only excitement in my dull day being getting an old laptop to work. I can take it up to Ayr with me and leave it there now.
Tesco Man came just after ten. He was the very cheerful, chatty young one who was there talking so long that my ice creams were starting to go squishy by the time he left. The other thing was that he delivered two items which definitely weren't on my list. It's clearly a year of huge bumble bees. One had caused havoc in the kitchens at the Dog and Doublet on Sunday when all the kitchen staff had come rushing out screaming. Poor bee!
Today, a furry version of the Hindenburg hovered in the porch. I quickly shouted at him that he was going the wrong way and to my surprise and Tesco Man's amusement, the insect did a u-turn and headed back the way he'd come! I went back inside after that, put things away and went back to work.
I found the other item I hadn't ordered buzzing around in the bathroom later. I'm glad the wasp who had flown up the stairs didn't sting me! Where the bumble bee earlier had done a u-turn, the wasp said goodbye via the u-bend. I'm a murderer!
Bigger twist?
Track? I am lacking in inspiration today so let's have my Black Country Communion/Joe Bonamassa favourite - Song Of Yesterday
