Yuba River at the top of the pass

This was taken near the top of Donner Pass near the Rainbow Lodge. At the top of the Pass, two rivers begin their descent down the mountains. To the east, the waters of the Truckee River begin their descent toward Lake Tahoe. To the west, the Yuba River gets its start.

I am always fascinated by the huge granite formations near the top of the Pass. Just above where this is taken, the Yuba River is forced to divide into two separate channels. This is the northern channel. The meet again downstream, but both channels have very nice cascades.

Go Large to see the cascades.

I'm really tired tonight. And trying to get this loaded to Blipfoto has been a bit more of chore tonight than usual. So, I will bid you all Good Night.

For those who follow Jesus, I hope that you have a joyous Easter! He has Risen!

For those who do not, I hope that you have a wonderful Sunday.
