Up up and away

Despite not flying till 2pm, we were off on our way to the airport at 10am this morning as my new father in law, being in the travel industry for many years before retiring, managed to get us into the Emirates lounge before the flight. This meant free food and beer so the boy wanted to make the most of it, and we did.

We were uncomfortably full when we boarded the plane but were well chuffed to see that we had got extra leg room seats just a row behind business class, we felt like royalty stretching ourselves out over three chairs to the annoyance of other passengers. We had to put our seatbelts on for about three hours of the flight as the air hostess announced we were expecting 'severe' turbulence, thank god I wasn't on a plane with Charl and Gem I thought but we didn't feel a thing!

After a 6.5 hour flight we had 2 hours in Dubai airport then another 6.5 hour flight to Mauritius but when you fly Emirates you don't mind, they are feeders!

We were glad to arrive at our lovely hotel after about twenty hours of travelling. The sun is shining and a bottle of bubbly in our suite to welcome the honeymoon couple.

I think we are going to like it here!

The picture was taken as we flew over the Alps near Innsbruck.
