Leading the Parade

In 1840 South Australia introduced the first police unit of grey horses in the world. According to some research, they are 16 hands high They are exclusive for their visibility at night. Traditionally they lead parades through the streets of Adelaide and I have seen them dressed in fancy costumes.

Here the Greys come into sight leading the Anzac Day Parade.

The shot converted to mono is a screen shot from television. I have enjoyed the communion with others of watching the Memorial Services at Gallipoli, Villers-Bretonneux, Lone Pine and our local services today. The weather for it was lovely this morning for the parade in Adelaide. Now the afternoon is incresingly overcast and sombre.

Lest We Forget.
