Bread, Cheese, Tomatoes
And after the long weekend, today was the day I finally felt I had got back to reality (or more realistically was able to cope with it...!)
Tuesday's disaster of a work day followed by a day ion the office which involved tedious phone calls, endlessly fruitless phone calls and a complete failure to complete anything, Thursday saw - normality?
Late start; I rolled out of bed at seven, on the bike by 0845 to sunny Leaf; perfect day for the bike. Warm, hardly any wind. And decent scheduling for once.
Giles Street, meandering wander through Cigs heaven up through Pilrig Park, Pilrig Street, Dryden Gait, then across the top of Easter Road; if there's one Cigs on Easter Road, there's a hundred....
Then further into Bingham, Duddingston and Northfield before a slow trawl though Abbeyhill for more Cigs hunting.
Office to drop off paperwork, then down to Leith for lunch; we sat in a sheltered spot around South Leith Parish Church, wind free, but sunny.
We had Manna House bread and bread sticks with blue cheese, mozzarella and tomatoes; chatted, enjoyed the sun.
She went back to work, I went home to prep Monday's 15 cases.
Finished about 1630, went for Alex via Morrisons who don't seem to stock haricot beans any more; oh well.
Then Tom, home, dinner, bath, stories, bed.
We chatted on the phone, I cooked, we chatted some more, argued pointlessly and slid into sleep around midnight. Normality is back. For now.
