Grubs up!!

Or should I say spiders!!

This is the male (Dad to be) who is doing his duties to feed the female in our nesting box. I have worked out their communication system. He perches on a branch in next door’s apple tree which extends in to our garden. He cheeps in a set pattern, with a number of repeats. If she comes out of the box he will feed her on the branch. If she doesn’t, he will go in to feed her. Sometimes she gratefully accepts, on occasions she gives him such an ear bashing, he must be pleased to get away!!
