Our first day in France. We got up at 3 and woke the children just before it was time to leave. After meeting Donald and Laura at a nearby service station we drove down to Folkestone and got the tunnel over where we met my Mum and Dad who had got the crossing before. We had our breakfast in City Europe and did a food shop there as well.

Amelie, who was aware that she had some euros to spend, went a bit mad (she doesn't take after me in any way...cough) and bought herself a sunhat, sunglasses and hairclips. She had way more in her arms though which we managed to negotiate back onto the shelves before it was time to go.

Eventually after another little drive we reached the holiday house where the lady who owned the place was waiting to lecture tell us about the house. My poor Dad got left listening to her opportunity to practice her English talk and we settled in.

Hot tub and Kir Royals ended our day nicely :)
