The Meadows

Boston Common may be more historical, Regent's Park more vast, les Tuileries more fashionable, the Tivoli more fun-packed..... But Edinburgh's Meadows are held in great affection by the denizens. As you can see, the great Quarter Mile Project to develop the old Infirmary carries on.

In the late 1740's, William Burness - the father of Bard Robert Burns - was one of the Gardeners working on landscaping The Meadows.
