The local Amenity area
It's not big enough really to be a park but is always referred to as a garden, but acts as a local park. It is literally around the corner from where I live and has been an area of open space since 1978 when the houses to the north and south were built. Before that, it was the top of a steeply sloping field that had horses grazing in it. To the south was a large derelict Victorian house that was pulled down to make way for the housing development that now occupies the site. A rather emotional day, and it also rained for most of it, so I did not get out to take a picture until the evening when it had turned brighter. This area was where the family used to take our dog Ben for quick walks before work or when the weather was too foul to go too far. It remains a pleasant area with lots of different trees and currently a lot of Cow Parsley.
