In the niche of time

This morning I found another of the sculptures that have been created from the trees blown down in the winter storms at the end of last year. They are dotted around Jephson Gardens in Leamington Spa. This one has a niche carved into it. If you are not very tall (like me) you can just about sit in it and it feels like you're sitting in a Porter's chair. But to me it looks like a niche in a church and it feels like it should have a statue of the Madonna and Child placed in it.
