Neist Point

On the far western edge of Skye is Neist Point lighthouse. Built in 1909 with light keepers cottages. It was made automatic in 1990 and the cottages sold. The buyer has tried to make them into holiday lets but they are now for sale and pretty vandalised.

Getting there by car involves narrow switchback roads with, for some reason lots of foreign cars and hire cars. It's every man for himself.

Great to see the Fulmars nesting; so elegant in flight but landing skills need a lot of work!
