Teddy in the aeroplane

Well that was a long, hard day. Audrey woke us at 6am and then went on to miss her lunchtime nap. Angus and I had stayed up late watching 24 (regret that now!) That meant today I had that nauseous feeling you get when the tiredness comes in waves.

Tried to elicit sympathy from some friends I bumped into on the street (also toddler Mums) but they have a regular 5am waker and 6am waker between them so it was a case of ' pick your audience!'

Had to be in town this morning and I probably overdid the coffee. Caffeine is such a crutch on days like this.

Angus had forgotten to bring Audrey's lunch when he dropped her for our handover and I lost it with him. I was pretty irrational but he fixed it by getting the chef at his place to make her some fish and chips (see pic). Meanwhile her healthy packed lunch sat on our stairs at home....

After trying unsuccessfully to put her down for her nap in her cot (she hates the cot at the moment for some reason, hence the early waking and lack of naps), we decided to head out for some fresh air.

She was so tired (and ratty) that she didn't even ask to walk for once. She wanted to see "teddy in the aeroplane" (a clothes shop on Beech Road has placed a teddy in a model aeroplane in their window so we say hello most days) and "Peppa on the postbox" (naughtily a few weeks back, I put a Peppa sticker on the postbox in Chorltonville so we often visit that too!) It's the little things!

I had something to drop at the dry cleaners so we did a massive walk and I got absolutely drenched in a downpour. Soaked to the bone (Audrey was dry lucky thing!).

Rescued an otherwise horrible day with a bath together tonight though which she thought was rather wonderful!
