Day of a door

What a day... It started off with a door and ended with a door. At precisely 07.30 this morning I went to grab this very door handle as a rather large splinter embedded itself under my middle finger nail. Ouch I thought and seeing how large it was caused Lady A to suggest going to hospital and having it taken out. I ignore her.. & by 11.00 the girls at work had carried out intensive surgery by cutting the nail down so far we could see the top of the splinter. By 17.00 I was in the Minor injuries ward wishing I'd listen to Lady A 10hrs before.. at 19.00 I was still there but by 19.45 I was almost on the floor as the kind doctor used her 'splinter forceps' to grab under the nail and send me into a painful spin. Did I take up the option of anaesthetising the finger? No way Pedro but afterwards I wish I had. Finally she grabbed it and patched me up. 2 morales have been learnt today. 1. Listen to the wife. 2. Wear gloves all the time as it's dangerous out there as there are hazards everywhere. Sickening end to the day is a pair of gloves by the horrible door and even got into the blip....
