Amazing Mark
My friend Mark embarked on a Challenge a while back to run 40 half marathons by the time he was 40.
He achieved it with 8 months to spare so he looked for a new challenge.
Today he did the new challenge. He ran 41.4 miles from his home just outside Preston to The Christie Hospital in Manchester.
As I write this he has over £800 on his justgiving page at
I have accompanied Mark in the backup car driven by his wonderful girlfriend Ness.
I've loosened up his legs with massage, run some of the route and kept him motivated (basically I just talked and Mark tried to run away from me!)
Mark has done a brilliant job today in some pretty awful weather.
The blip is at the half way point.
In the 7 hours 29 minutes the run took, he had about 9 minutes of sunshine, 20 minutes of dry weather, and 7 hours of rain that varied from drizzle to lashing it down!
We have had a lot of laughs along the way too.
It has been an honour to be part of a brilliant day. Thank you for letting me join you Mark.
