Before the dawn.....

A cloud laden sunrise this morning and so in the end I went back to the images I had taken before the sunrise.
This one caught my eye.....I love the calm, the sense of anticipation, the unknown ...before the world awakes and begins another day. It is truly my favourite time of day.
As we celebrate Mother's Day here in Australia today it reminded me of the times when I was awaiting the births of our children. That mix of excitement and fear.

Jasper kept me company this morning , my faithful four-legged companion. I returned home to find my middle son had cooked fluffy pancakes with banana and caramel syrup for me for Mother's Day! What an amazing start to a special day.............
