Fancy dining

In a day that was far more packed than I could really cope with I somehow fulfilled a promise to Anna that we could have our first opening of Restaurant MoDa (Mother Daughter). Anna wasn't really up to it either but such was her determination* that we made pesto rack of lamb with rosemary roast potatoes and steamed vegetables followed by chocolate marble cupcakes. She even made menus, a please wait here to be seated sign and took drinks orders. Guests who arrived early were even given drinks in the lounge (which it became for these purposes).

After making many kitchen related decisions this morning and partying with the birthday godson and then this, there was much lying around on the sofa feeling exhausted and slightly dreading the start of the week.

Though although a day asleep might have made me feel better, a day of activity with friends and family has been nicer.

*we get so much of our inspiration from television - this was borne from a love of Masterchef. All 4 plates were laid out identically and I believe the word, "service" may have been called.
